Poised to enter IT business boom

Pakistan is poised to enter an era where we will benefit from a lot of IT related business activity. We dont have consistent electric power, my phone line, which is the tiniest thing that you can imagine for IT, has been down for the last week with no clue as to what is wrong and what is going on, we only have one "real" link to the Internet, which is apparently programmed or scheduled to go down every few months. We're poised to......yea, right, whatever!

The lifetime of a complaint is 3 days maximum, if you don't the phone fixed you may directly call the divisional head or GM and they'll get back to you instantly. I had to deal with a similar situation when I upgraded to ISDN at home. My line was upgraded and without the NT, even my phone line was no good (luckily, we had another landline, so that wasn't a big issue!); everytime I went to them, they complained of the unavailibility of the NT boxes. My dad rang up in the morning and in the afternoon I had my NT! I lodged a complaint once at the PTCL office directly and they gave me special phone number on which I could call for Gulshan-e-Iqbal head if my phone is not fixed within two days. PTCL is really pushing on their after sales service part.

I think there's no one in karachi who hasn't suffered from phone problems. I moved to a new place last year, and the phone lines there were real bad. I lodged several complaints but to no avail. It was only after I went to a superior officer with my complaint, that my phone line got fixed. It's kinda funny, I had been compaining for a week but no one listened ... and it took only a couple of hours after I'd met this head guy of ptcl office.

Yup, they were pushing customer service for sure and I appreciate that. But since the government started trying to sell everything, I think they changed their mind. Seriously, though, at my end, its some poor cable's domestic problems.
